Every three years the State of New Jersey conducts a full monitoring process through the Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC) program assessing district compliance in five prescribed areas namely, Instruction and Program, Fiscal, Governance, Operations, and Personnel. Each year, districts are required to complete a Statement of Assurances (SOA) that is submitted to the State. Based on the State’s evaluation of the SOA and other critical areas, River Edge has been designated as “high performing” allowing us to apply for an Equivalency Waiver. If granted, this waiver will permit us to maintain the designation of “high performing” for an additional three years, during which time full district monitoring will be suspended. The River Edge School District is a partnership of students, parents, staff, and community members. We are dedicated to providing a supportive environment in which all students can reach their maximum academic potential, while developing as responsible citizens who respect individuality. Our goals will be achieved because:
» Curriculum and instruction are aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards
» All decisions reflect the academic, social/emotional and physical needs of pre-K to sixth grade students
» Cooperation and on-going communication exist between the school district and the community
» School administrators and the Board of Education work together to assess and adjust procedures in response to new mandates and the changing needs of the community
The River Edge School District has conscientiously implemented the requirements found in the Anti Bullying Bill of Rights Act by providing programs and training opportunities for staff and students to develop strategies for conflict resolution and creating a positive learning environment for all students. The New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act requires that all districts be graded on whether their schools are following both the letter and spirit of the legislation. The grades are based on a scale of 0-78 and must be released and posted on each school's website. We are pleased to announce that the River Edge School District grade was: 77 out of 78.
