August 7, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope this letter finds you excited about the beginning of a new year at Cherry Hill School. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and efficient environment for our students, we are implementing new morning drop-off procedures that will be starting from the first day of school, September 5, 2023. Dismissal procedures are below.

Drop-off Time Window: To ensure a prompt start to our school day, we have established a window of time between 8:00 AM and 8:25 AM to drop off the students. This window will provide parents with a flexible yet structured timeframe to drop the students off each morning.

Entrance Point - In order to streamline the drop-off process and enhance safety, we have designated certain doors for entrance. Parents and students are still encouraged to walk to school; however, car drop-off points on Bogert Road are available.  If choosing to drive and drop off your child on  Bogert, please  adhere to the drop and go zone on the school side  of Bogert Road.  Per the River Edge Police Department, you are not permitted to get out of your car.  Students in K-4  will walk directly into Cherry Hill School through the main front door.

  •  Students in grades 5 and 6 will enter the building through the court yard door

  •  Kindergarten and first  grade students will report to the gymnasium escorted by supervising staff

  • Students in the morning program will follow the Alphabest protocol and enter into the Multipurpose Room, MPR

Safety and Accountability Measures: The safety and well-being of our students remain our utmost priority. With this in mind, we have implemented several safety and accountability measures during drop-off:

  • Supervision: Our school staff members will be present in the Gym and corresponding hallways to supervise students and ensure a smooth transition to their classrooms.

  • Colored Tags: Kindergarten and first grade students will be provided with a colored tag for classroom identification purposes. It is essential that the tag is displayed visibly on each student’s backpack.  Kindergarten and first grade parents will be notified when to come to the school to pick up their tag.

  • Program Punctuality: By following the designated drop-off window and utilizing the single drop-off point, we will be better equipped to begin our school day on time at 8:25AM.

Dismissal Procedures  3:00 PM

  • Parents must park on the street but please do not double park

  • Enter  the school  campus to pick up your child at designated dismissal locations:

    • Kindergarten- The link doors by the playground

    • Grade 1- Under the overhang

    • Grade 2- Outside the parking lot doors by the overhang

    • Grade 3- By the church side of the school

    • Grade 4- Outside the main entrance

    • Grade 5 and 6 will walk to the front of the school from the driveway by Cherry Blossom Park

We believe that these new drop-off procedures will significantly contribute to a safer and more efficient morning routine for everyone involved. Your cooperation and support are crucial in ensuring the success of these changes.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new drop-off procedures, please do not hesitate to contact me. We value your feedback and are committed to addressing any questions or concerns you may have.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making our school a secure and nurturing environment for all students. We eagerly anticipate a successful school year ahead.
