The River Edge School District is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a significant grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's School Violence Prevention (COPS) program.  The COPS grant, totaling $322,917 will support the implementation of comprehensive safety and security measures in the River Edge School District. These measures encompass a wide range of initiatives, including:

  • Installing a district wide electronic access control and door monitoring system
  • Upgrading all video surveillance monitoring systems and integrating all camera systems district wide
  • Purchasing a new wifi radio system

Superintendent Cathy Danahy expressed gratitude for the COPS grant award, stating, "The safety and well-being of our students and staff are paramount to us. This grant will significantly enhance our ability to maintain a secure educational environment where students can thrive and teachers can focus on their mission of education”.
